National Yogurt Association

The National Yogurt Association (NYA) was a trade organization representing yogurt producers in the United States. Its main role was to promote the consumption of yogurt, establish industry standards for quality and safety, and support research and education related to yogurt products. The NYA also provided guidelines for probiotic content and other health claims, helping consumers make informed choices. While it played a key role in industry development and marketing, it was primarily an advocacy group serving the interests of yogurt manufacturers. As of recent years, its functions have been integrated into other industry associations focusing on probiotics and dairy products.
