National Negro Business League
The National Negro Business League (NNBL) was established in 1900 by African American leaders, including Booker T. Washington, to support and empower Black entrepreneurs and business owners. Its main goals were to promote economic development within the African American community, encourage entrepreneurship, and advocate for the needs of Black businesses. The league provided networking opportunities, resources, and education, helping to build a foundation for economic independence and civil rights. While it faced significant challenges, the NNBL played a crucial role in fostering Black entrepreneurship during a time of widespread discrimination and economic disparity.
