National Living Wage
The National Living Wage is the minimum amount an employer is legally required to pay workers aged 23 and over in the UK. It aims to ensure that adults are paid fairly for their work, helping them cover basic living costs such as food, housing, and transportation. The rate is set by the government and is reviewed periodically, increasing to keep pace with living expenses. Employers must adhere to this minimum; paying less is illegal. It does not apply to younger workers, who are covered by different minimum wage rates.
