National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam (NLF)
The National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam (NLF), also known as the Viet Cong, was a communist-led organization fighting to reunify Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Composed of South Vietnamese rebels supported by North Vietnam, the NLF used guerrilla tactics, such as ambushes and sabotage, to oppose the South Vietnamese government and U.S. forces. Their goal was to establish a communist regime in all of Vietnam. The NLF was a key player in the conflict, working both politically and militarily to challenge the South’s government and influence the outcome of the war.
