National Ecological Observatory Network
The National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) is a large-scale research infrastructure that collects long-term data on America’s ecosystems, including forests, grasslands, water bodies, and urban areas. By using advanced sensors, remote sensing, and field observations, NEON provides scientists with consistent, high-quality information on how environmental factors like climate change, land use, and human activity affect our natural and urban environments. This data helps improve understanding of ecological processes, supports conservation efforts, and informs policy decisions to promote sustainable management of natural resources across the United States.
