National Drug Intelligence Center

The National Drug Intelligence Center (NDIC) was a part of the U.S. Department of Justice focused on combating drug-related crime. It provided law enforcement agencies with crucial information and analysis about drug trafficking trends, methods, and the impact of drug abuse on communities. By gathering and sharing intelligence, the NDIC helped local, state, and federal authorities better understand drug issues and informed strategies to address them. Although it was officially closed in 2012, its functions have been absorbed by other agencies, continuing the effort to tackle drug problems in the United States.
