National Democratic Party (Egypt)

The National Democratic Party (NDP) was a political party in Egypt, founded in 1978. It served as the ruling party under President Hosni Mubarak for several decades. The NDP promoted policies of economic liberalization and stability, but it faced criticism for authoritarian practices and lack of genuine political competition. After the 2011 Egyptian Revolution, which led to widespread protests against Mubarak’s regime, the NDP was dissolved. The party's legacy includes its role in shaping Egypt’s modern political landscape and the subsequent push for democratic reforms in the country.
