National Advertising Division
The National Advertising Division (NAD) is a self-regulatory body that reviews advertising and marketing claims to ensure they are truthful and not misleading. It handles disputes between competitors or consumer complaints, evaluating whether ads comply with industry standards and laws. If an ad is found to be deceptive, NAD recommends modifications or withdrawal. Its goal is to promote honest advertising practices, maintain fair competition, and protect consumers, often resolving issues without legal action. The NAD operates independently but is part of the Better Business Bureau’s National Programs.
