
Nairobi Convention
The Nairobi Convention, officially known as the Nairobi Convention for the Protection, Management, and Development of the Marine and Coastal Environment of the Western Indian Ocean Region, is an agreement aimed at protecting the marine and coastal environments of the Western Indian Ocean. Established in 1985, it promotes sustainable development, conservation of marine biodiversity, and the reduction of pollution. Countries that are member states work together to address shared environmental challenges, enhance regional cooperation, and ensure the health of vital ocean resources for future generations.
