Mysore Wars

The Mysore Wars were a series of three conflicts in the late 18th century between the British East India Company and the Kingdom of Mysore, located in southern India. These wars aimed to control the strategically important region and curb the power of Mysore’s ruler, Tipu Sultan. The British sought to expand their influence, leading to military confrontations that ultimately resulted in British dominance over Mysore. The wars greatly influenced British colonial expansion in India, establishing their presence in the region and diminishing local resistance.
