Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME)

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, is a complex, long-term illness characterized by profound fatigue that isn't improved by rest. People with ME often experience symptoms like unrefreshing sleep, cognitive difficulties ("brain fog"), muscle and joint pain, and sensitivity to light or sound. The exact cause isn’t fully understood, but it’s believed to involve interactions between the immune system, nervous system, and energy production. ME can significantly impact daily life, with symptoms fluctuating in severity, and there is currently no specific cure, making management and support essential.
