Mustali Ismailism

Mustali Ismailism is a branch of Shia Islam founded in the 11th century, emphasizing the leadership of Imams descended from Ali and Fatima, focusing on a specific line of succession through the Imams. They believe the rightful spiritual guide is the Imām, who leads both religious and worldly affairs, emphasizing reason, knowledge, and community. Mustali Ismailis are distinguished from other Shia groups by their views on succession and interpretation of Islamic teachings. Today, their most prominent community is the Nizari Ismailis, led by the Aga Khan, who promote education, social development, and interfaith dialogue.
