Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a 9th-century Islamic scholar from Al-Andalus (modern Spain) known for compiling one of the most authoritative collections of Hadith—sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad. His work, called Sahih Muslim, is highly respected in the Muslim world for its rigorous method of authenticating reports. The book is part of the core texts used by Muslims to understand Islamic teachings and law.
