Muscle plasticity

Muscle plasticity refers to the ability of muscle tissue to adapt and change in response to different activities or stimuli. When you exercise, muscles can grow stronger and larger through increased protein production and fiber size. Conversely, inactivity or bed rest can cause muscles to weaken and shrink. This adaptability allows muscles to optimize their function based on demands, ensuring efficient movement and strength. Essentially, muscle plasticity reflects how muscles are dynamic tissues capable of remodeling, strengthening, or shrinking depending on how they’re used.
