Munda Rebellion
The Munda Rebellion was an uprising by the Munda tribal people in present-day Odisha and Jharkhand, India, around 1931-1932. Driven by opposition to British colonial policies, land disputes, and exploitation, they sought to defend their land, culture, and rights. The rebellion aimed to challenge colonial authority and promote tribal self-rule. Although it was suppressed, it highlighted the tribal fight against colonial oppression and contributed to India's broader independence movement, emphasizing the importance of protecting indigenous communities and their way of life.
