Muktibahini

Muktibahini was the military wing of Bangladesh's independence movement in 1971. Formed by Bengali soldiers and civilians, its purpose was to fight against the Pakistani military when East Pakistan sought independence and faced violent repression. The Muktibahini played a key role in the guerrilla warfare, organizing resistance and supporting the broader struggle for Bangladesh's sovereignty. It comprised both defected military personnel and civilian fighters committed to liberation. Their efforts contributed significantly to the eventual creation of an independent Bangladesh after a brutal nine-month conflict.
