Muhammad II of Granada
Muhammad II of Granada, also known as Muhammad the Great, was the last emir of the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada in Spain, ruling from 1464 to 1482. His reign occurred during a period of significant tension between Muslim and Christian states. Facing the powerful Catholic Monarchs, Ferdinand and Isabella, he sought to maintain his kingdom's autonomy through diplomacy and alliances. Despite initial successes, Granada eventually fell in 1492, marking the end of Muslim rule in Spain. Muhammad II's efforts represent the struggles of a last-ditch resistance against the Reconquista, a significant historical conflict.
