Movimiento Zapatista

The Zapatista Movement is a social and political movement in Mexico that began in 1994, led by the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN). It advocates for the rights of indigenous communities, social justice, and indigenous autonomy, opposing government policies and economic practices they see as exploitative. The movement gained international attention through their armed rebellion, but today they primarily use grassroots organizing, community self-governance, and advocacy to promote their goals. They emphasize respecting indigenous cultures, land rights, and opposing neoliberal economic policies that threaten local communities.
