The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is a humanitarian organization that provides assistance and support during crises, armed conflicts, and natural disasters. Founded in 1863, it operates through national societies across the globe, united by shared principles such as neutrality, impartiality, and independence. The Movement's main goals are to prevent and alleviate human suffering, protect lives and health, and uphold human dignity. It consists of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
