Mounting
Mounting refers to the process of making a storage device, such as a hard drive or USB stick, accessible to a computer's operating system. When mounted, the system recognizes the device and assigns it a directory or drive letter, allowing you to view, read, and write data on it. This process typically happens automatically when connecting external devices or can be done manually for internal drives. Mounting ensures the device’s contents are integrated into the system’s file structure, enabling seamless access and management of files.
