mount

In computing, a "mount" is the process of making a storage device or a part of it, like a hard drive or a partition, accessible to the operating system. When you mount a device, you're essentially attaching it to your system's folder structure, allowing you to read, write, and manage files on it. It’s like opening a door to a new storage space within your computer. When you’re done, you can "unmount" it, safely disconnecting the device without risking data loss. This process enables seamless access to additional storage resources.
