MOSAiC Expedition
The MOSAiC Expedition, which stands for Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate, was a groundbreaking scientific mission that took place from 2019 to 2020. It involved researchers from around the world who drifted on an icebreaker, the Polarstern, through the Arctic Ocean for a year. The aim was to study the complex interactions between the atmosphere, sea ice, and ocean, enhancing our understanding of climate change in the Arctic. This expedition provided valuable data to improve climate models and inform global responses to the environmental challenges we face.
