Morgenthau Plan

The Morgenthau Plan was a proposal made during World War II by U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau Jr. to deindustrialize Germany and shift it to an agricultural economy to prevent future military threats. The idea was to limit Germany's capacity to produce war materials and reduce its power. While it influenced post-war policies, the plan was ultimately not fully implemented; instead, Germany was reconstructed as a more stable, industrial nation, which helped foster peace and economic recovery in Europe.
