Moral egoism

Moral egoism is the ethical belief that individuals should act in their own best interest, prioritizing their own happiness and well-being above others. It suggests that moral actions are those that benefit oneself, and making decisions that promote personal success and satisfaction is morally correct. Unlike other ethical views that emphasize helping others or following societal rules, moral egoism centers on self-interest as the guiding principle for moral behavior. It doesn’t necessarily mean being selfish in a negative sense, but rather that acting in ways that ultimately serve one's own good is morally justified.
