Moorish science and philosophy

Moorish Science is a spiritual and cultural movement founded in the early 20th century by Noble Drew Ali, emphasizing Black empowerment, reclaiming African heritage, and establishing a sense of identity rooted in Islamic principles. It promotes the idea that people of African descent are descended from the Moors of North Africa, advocating pride in their history and culture. Its philosophy blends Islamic teachings with African traditions, emphasizing self-knowledge, moral integrity, and community upliftment. While not universally recognized as an orthodox religion, Moorish Science aims to foster spiritual awareness and social solidarity among its followers.
