Montelukast
Montelukast is a medication commonly used to prevent and manage asthma symptoms and allergic rhinitis (hay fever). It works by blocking substances in the body called leukotrienes, which cause inflammation, airway constriction, and mucus production in the lungs and nose. By reducing these effects, Montelukast helps improve breathing, decrease asthma attacks, and relieve allergy symptoms. It is usually taken once daily in tablet form and is effective as part of a long-term treatment plan. While generally safe, it’s important to use under medical supervision and report any unusual side effects.
