Mono

Mono, medically known as infectious mononucleosis, is a contagious illness caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. It often spreads through saliva, which is why it's sometimes called the "kissing disease," but can also spread through other bodily fluids. Common symptoms include fatigue, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, fever, and muscle aches. Mono is usually diagnosed through blood tests and generally resolves on its own with rest and proper care. Most people recover fully, but it can cause prolonged fatigue. It's important to avoid contact sports during recovery to prevent spleen injury, which can sometimes enlarge in mono cases.
