Mon language

The Mon language is an ancient Southeast Asian language spoken primarily in parts of Myanmar and Thailand. It belongs to the Mon-Khmer language family and has a rich history dating back over a thousand years, influencing the development of other regional languages, including Burmese. Mon features its own unique script, which is one of the oldest writing systems in Southeast Asia. Today, while not widely spoken, it remains an important cultural and historical symbol for the Mon people, and efforts are ongoing to preserve and promote its use.
