Mole
A mole is a unit used in chemistry to measure the amount of a substance. It represents a specific number of particles—namely atoms, molecules, or ions—equal to approximately 6.022 x 10²³. This number, called Avogadro's number, helps scientists count tiny particles in manageable quantities. For example, one mole of water contains about 6.022 x 10²³ water molecules. Using the mole allows chemists to relate mass to the number of particles, facilitating calculations in chemical reactions and compound formations.
