Molar pregnancy

A molar pregnancy is a rare complication where abnormal tissue grows inside the uterus instead of a normal fetus during pregnancy. It occurs when the fertilized egg develops into abnormal tissue, forming clusters of cysts that resemble a bunch of grapes. This may cause symptoms like heavy bleeding, rapid uterine growth, and high levels of pregnancy hormones. Molar pregnancy cannot result in a viable baby and requires medical treatment, usually removal of the abnormal tissue, to prevent complications. It is diagnosed through ultrasound and blood tests, and follow-up is important to ensure complete recovery.
