Mohawk Tribe
The Mohawk Tribe is one of the original nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, also known as the Iroquois Confederacy. They are Indigenous peoples primarily located in parts of New York State, southern Canada, and other regions. Known as "Keepers of the Eastern Door," the Mohawk historically played a vital role in trade, diplomacy, and military alliances. They have a rich cultural heritage, including traditional crafts, ceremonies, and governance systems. Today, Mohawk communities maintain their cultural identity while engaging with broader society, advocating for their rights, land, and cultural preservation.
