Modernization theories
Modernization theories suggest that societies develop their economies and cultures over time by adopting technological advancements, improved education, and new social practices. They believe that as countries modernize, they move from traditional, rural ways of life to more industrialized, urban, and connected systems. This process is seen as a natural progression toward greater prosperity and stability, often modeled after Western societies. While these theories help explain development patterns, they also face criticism for oversimplifying cultural differences and ignoring inequalities or unique historical contexts in different countries.
