Mithridatic Wars

The Mithridatic Wars were a series of three conflicts between Rome and the King of Pontus, Mithridates VI, from 88 to 63 BCE. Mithridates sought to expand his territory and challenge Roman dominance in Asia Minor. The wars involved battles, alliances, and shifting power dynamics, ultimately resulting in Rome's victory and the consolidation of control over Anatolia. These conflicts were significant in weakening Rome’s rivals and showcasing its expanding imperial reach, influencing Roman politics and the balance of power in the Mediterranean region.
