Misdirection
Misdirection is a technique used to intentionally divert attention away from the key moment or object, often employed in magic or psychology. By focusing your gaze or thoughts elsewhere, the magician or practitioner can perform a secret action without being noticed. It exploits our limited attention and perception, making us overlook what’s truly important. Misdirection is not deception in a dishonest sense but a way to guide our focus, creating an illusion or surprise by controlling what we notice and what we miss.
