Mirai Botnet

The Mirai Botnet is a network of infected internet-connected devices, like cameras and routers, that hackers control without their owners’ knowledge. These compromised devices are used to send large amounts of data simultaneously, often to overload websites or online services, causing disruptions or outages. The malware behind Mirai scans for vulnerable devices, quickly infects them, and adds them to the botnet. This enables cybercriminals to execute powerful attacks, like Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, that can impact internet stability and security.
