Miniratna

Miniratna is a designation given by the Government of India to certain public sector enterprises that are considered to have a good track record and are financially stable. These companies have been recognized for their ability to operate independently and efficiently, which allows them greater financial autonomy. There are two categories of Miniratna—Category I and Category II—each with different financial limits for investment without government approval. The Miniratna status aims to enhance the performance and competitiveness of these enterprises, promoting efficiency and encouraging self-management in the public sector.
