Militia
A militia is a military force composed of ordinary citizens who are available to serve in defense of their community or country, typically during emergencies or wartime. Unlike regular armed forces with full-time professional soldiers, militias generally consist of volunteers who maintain basic training and gear to quickly mobilize when needed. They can serve as a supplement to national military forces, providing citizens' protection and supporting government defense efforts. Historically, militias have played roles in local security, resistance movements, and national defense, functioning as a reserve force drawn from the civilian population.
