Military Leave Policies
Military leave policies are regulations that allow service members to take time off from their civilian jobs for military duties, training, or deployment. Under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), employees cannot be discriminated against for their military service. Employers must provide unpaid leave, and upon returning, service members have the right to be reemployed in their previous positions or equivalent roles. Some companies may offer paid leave as well. The intent is to support service members while ensuring job security and protecting their rights during and after their service.
