
Mikhail Lomonosov
Mikhail Lomonosov (1711-1765) was a prominent Russian polymath known for his contributions in science, literature, and education. He was the first person to establish a scientific foundation in Russia, significantly advancing chemistry and physics. Lomonosov is also recognized for his work in literature, particularly in promoting the Russian language and developing Russian poetry. He founded Moscow State University, which remains one of the top educational institutions in Russia. His multidisciplinary approach and emphasis on empirical research helped shape modern scientific thought in Russia and solidified his legacy as a key figure in the Enlightenment.
