Mike Schmidt is a former American Major League Baseball player, widely regarded as one of the greatest third basemen in the sport’s history. He played primarily for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1972 to 1989 and was known for his exceptional hitting, power, and defensive skills. Schmidt won three National League Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards and ten Gold Glove Awards for his fielding. Throughout his career, he hit over 500 home runs and was a key player in leading the Phillies to their first World Series Championship in 1980. His excellence earned him induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995.
