
Midhat Pasha
Midhat Pasha was a prominent Ottoman statesman in the 19th century, known for his reformist ideas. He served as the governor of Baghdad and later as the Grand Vizier, the highest official in the Ottoman Empire. Midhat Pasha championed modernization efforts, including legal reforms, education advancements, and the establishment of a constitution in 1876, which aimed to modernize the empire and reduce corruption. Despite his efforts, he faced political challenges and was eventually exiled.
