microarray technology

Microarray technology is a laboratory method used to analyze gene activity across thousands of genes simultaneously. It involves placing small DNA fragments, called probes, onto a solid surface like a chip. When a sample of labeled genetic material (e.g., from a person's cells) is applied to the chip, the genetic material binds to matching probes. By detecting these bindings, scientists can determine which genes are active and to what extent, helping in research, diagnostics, and understanding gene expression patterns related to diseases or conditions.
