Metaontology

Metaontology is the study of the nature and existence of categories like universals and particulars. Universals are qualities or properties that can be shared, such as "redness" or "circularity," while particulars are individual items, like a specific red apple or a certain round table. Metaontological questions explore whether universals really exist independently of particulars or if they are just names we use to describe shared features of individual objects. It seeks to understand the fundamental categories that shape our understanding of reality and how they relate to the things we perceive in the world.
