Medieval Wales

Medieval Wales (circa 5th to 15th centuries) was a region marked by its distinct culture and language, shaped by various kingdoms, such as Gwynedd and Powys. It was characterized by a strong warrior society and rich traditions in poetry and storytelling, notably through figures like the poet Dafydd ap Gwilym. Wales resisted English control, particularly during the conflicts led by figures like Owain Glyndŵr in the early 15th century. The period ended with increased English influence, leading to the Laws in Wales Acts of the 1530s, which integrated Wales into the English legal system and administration.
