Medieval Serbia
Medieval Serbia, from around the 12th to 15th centuries, was a powerful kingdom and later empire in the Balkans. It was known for its skilled warriors, rich Orthodox Christian culture, and impressive medieval architecture, including churches and monasteries. Under rulers like Stefan Nemanja and Tsar Stefan Dušan, Serbia expanded its territory and influence, creating a strong centralized state. The region was a hub for art, religion, and politics, but faced periodic invasions from the Ottoman Empire, which eventually led to its decline and incorporation into Ottoman rule by the late 15th century.
