Medical Ultrasonography
Medical ultrasonography, commonly known as ultrasound, is a diagnostic imaging technique that uses sound waves to create images of the inside of the body. A small device called a transducer emits high-frequency sound waves, which bounce off tissues and organs. These echoes are captured and transformed into real-time images displayed on a monitor. Ultrasound is widely used to monitor pregnancies, examine organs, and assess blood flow, among other applications. It is a safe, non-invasive procedure that does not use radiation, making it suitable for various patients, including pregnant women and children.
