Mechthild of Magdeburg (c. 1207–1282) was a German mystic and writer known for her poetic visions and spiritual insights. She experienced intense divine revelations and expressed her mystical experiences through allegorical poetry, emphasizing love, humility, and the soul’s union with God. Her works encouraged personal spirituality and inner contemplation during the Middle Ages, and she was one of the few women whose writings gained recognition in her time.
