McDonnell Douglas Test

The McDonnell Douglas Test is a legal framework used in workplace discrimination cases, particularly in the United States. It helps determine if an employer’s actions were discriminatory. Under this test, a person must first show they are part of a protected group (e.g., based on race or gender) and that they were qualified for a job but were treated unfairly compared to others. If they establish this, the employer then has to provide a legitimate, non-discriminatory reason for their action. Finally, the person can challenge that reason, showing it may be a cover for discrimination.
