Mayan culture

The Mayan civilization, thriving from around 2000 BCE to 1500 CE in present-day Central America, was known for its impressive advancements in astronomy, mathematics, and architecture. They built grand cities with impressive pyramids, developed a complex calendar system, and created a hieroglyphic writing system to record history and rituals. The Maya were skilled farmers, artisans, and traders, with a rich religious life centered on gods, rituals, and ceremonial practices. Although their classic cities declined by the late 9th century, their descendants continue to preserve Mayan language and traditions today.
