MAXI

MAXI, which stands for Monitor of All-sky X-ray Image, is an astronomical instrument aboard the International Space Station. It continuously surveys the entire sky in X-ray wavelengths, detecting and monitoring energetic cosmic phenomena such as black holes, neutron stars, and supernovae. By providing real-time data on variable and transient X-ray sources, MAXI helps astronomers study the dynamic universe and quickly identify interesting events for further observation. Its comprehensive, all-sky coverage allows for a broad understanding of high-energy processes happening in space.
